Nurture base Mothers Day

The Nurture base enjoyed celebrating Mothers day with their mums!

We made scones. Carefully weighing out and mixing all our ingredients.

We then enjoyed eating our delicious bakes.

5A’s Eggdrop!

To promote a greater understanding of teamwork we had the challenge of creating a way for Eggward to land safely. Points were given according to the height at which our egg survived, bonus points were also given for style of Eggward’s design. Materials were limited to straws, paper and an amount of masking tape. We evaluated our team working skills and gave ourselves targets to improve on in next week’s challenge.

3A at the Farm (our afternoon!)

In the afternoon, we practised milking a cow, played some fun farm games, tried lots of new foods, investigated how fish are farmed and even rode in a Police car! We all had a fantastic day and learnt alot about farming in our local area.

3A at the Farm (our morning!)

We had a wonderful time at the Suffolk County Farm Fair! In the morning, we met lots of farm animals,  saw Suffolk Punches, met some energetic working hounds, discovered how to plant potatoes and even saw a combine harvester in action!

Happy Mothers Day!

Don’t forget to add your pictures and comments to Tapestry for your Easter Egg Challenge. Below is a reminder, just in case you had forgotten!

Happy Mothers Day!

Our Mother’s Day share was a great success, thank you so much to everyone who joined us for the afternoon, the turnout was amazing!

The children, teachers and, fingers crossed, ladies in our lives all had a brilliant afternoon filled with dancing, cooking and planting!

Is it a plane? Is it a bird? No it’s SUPERPOTATO!

The children have loved exploring the world of superheroes, we have met characters and supported them on their missions.

Children were keen to turn themselves into superheroes and express their powers, from ‘super speed’ to ‘super adder’ the children got a real sense for their own strengths and areas they are proud of.
It was amazing to see how keen Superheroes are to write, the children wrote some fantastic phrases and stories, especially inside the Bat Cave!

Into the Dragons’ Den

What a sensational way to end our term’s learning! Year 6 were outstanding! They pitched their ideas, presented well-thought out adverts, answered tricky question linked to finance and eco-values, and shared their absolute enthusiasm for their innovative products that could revolutionise someone’s life.

Many thanks to all the parents who supported us this morning, making this a real-life learning experience for all.
Happy Easter everyone.

Sizewell beach trip

Yesterday, we had a fantastic trip to Sizewell Beach. When we arrived, we were met by our leaders who were running our trip. In the morning, we had two activities to do. One activity was a scavenger hunt. We had to find lots of things which made nature beautiful on the beach. When we had collected them, we looked at them carefully through magnifying glasses. We loved exploring and asking questions about what we could see! After that, we then did a litter pick. We all were given a grabber and we went around the beach collecting items that shouldn’t be there as they may cause harm to the wildlife. It then poured it down! Whilst we were waiting for the rain to stop, we sat in some survival shelters. After lunch, we then took part in some craft activities. These were: Making a fish, creating a beach scene, sketching of the beautiful objects we had found, colouring and some  word searches. We had a fun filled day!
