Suffolk Show School Garden Design – Part One

The pupils in Falcon Class have been working very hard on their Suffolk Show Garden Design. They began by exploring existing designs to understand the features of gardens, developing their own preferences and evaluation skills. The pupils then carried out research and suggested ideas for the competition’s theme: ‘Gardens of the World’. They were very determined to have two key concepts: habitats around the world (relating to their interest in animals) and protecting the environment (linked to their enthusiasm for Gorseland’s eco projects). Since their decision, the pupils have been very engaged with researching habitats, sourcing suitable plants, growing their own herbs and vegetables in the new school allotment, caring for bought plants and creating art using recycled materials.
