Chocolate sculptures in Year 7

We have been focussing on sculpture in art and the Year 7s have been very excited about how realistic 3D pieces can look. We began by exploring food sculptures by artists including Claes Oldenburg and Peter Anton. We then learned techniques such as folding, scrunching and curling paper, wrapping and twisting cellophane, coiling string and shredding materials. The Year 7s took on the challenge of creating realistic looking chocolate sculptures that look good enough to eat. What a fantastic result!
